Bang Muay Thai was created by renown kickboxing champion, UFC veteran, and MMA coach of the year Duane “Bang” Ludwig. The striking system has strong influences from Dutch kickboxing, as well as Muay Thai, MMA, and boxing. Classes are taught by Parker Nielsen.
Brazilian, or “sport” Jiu-Jitsu can be described as both a martial art and combat sport that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting. Both Judo and BJJ share the basic principle that by using leverage and proper technique a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a larger, more powerful assailant—in particular by applying joint-locks and chokeholds to defeat the aggressor. BJJ also includes many self-defense applications. Jeff Nielsen is the head instructor.
In No Gi Jiu-Jitsu, you don't wear the traditional uniform. Instead, you wear shorts and a t-shirt or rash guard. In the No Gi form of BJJ, you can't grab your opponent's clothing to increase leverage. To be a complete Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu player, you should train in both Gi and No Gi.
